Daryl Parks Opens Campaign Headquarters, Announces Vision for Tallahassee’s Economy

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. -Tallahassee mayoral candidate Daryl Parks today announced the official opening of his campaign headquarters at the Community Business Services, 1211 W. Tharpe St.

Founded in 1968 by the late Ernest J. “Sonny” Smith, Community Business Services has stood as a historic economic anchor in the Frenchtown/Griffin Heights community for over 50 years. The headquarters launch marks a major milestone for the campaign, which recently achieved official ballot qualification. In a moment highlighting the campaign’s focus on local families, Parks’ nieces and nephews personally submitted his qualifying paperwork to the Leon County Supervisor of Elections.

“Securing a better future for all Tallahassee families is the driving force behind this campaign,” Parks said. “I am incredibly proud to share this milestone moment with my family, friends and the community. Having my nieces and nephews hand in these final papers reminds us exactly what is at stake: the city we leave behind for the next generation.”

The opening of the headquarters builds on the recent launch of Parks’ economic development initiative. Parks recently hosted a collaborative economic roundtable discussion at Earley’s Kitchen, bringing together Tallahassee and Big Bend regional small-business owners, Network of Entrepreneurs and NEBA representatives, and local chamber representatives.

The event served as the official launchpad for his comprehensive policy proposal, “A Unified Economic Development and Regional Job Growth Strategy.” The strategy outlines a vision to transition Tallahassee from a traditional government-dependent economy into a regional hub. During the roundtable, Parks gathered direct input from local entrepreneurs, pledging to run an administration rooted in active listening, cross-governmental teamwork and breaking down political silos to build an interconnected economy.

“Our campaign is powered by the people,” Parks said. “From the thousands of residents I have met on my daily walks, door-knocking in neighborhoods, worshiping and listening to local business owners, the message is clear: Tallahassee is ready for a unified approach to progress.”

With the opening of the new headquarters, the Parks campaign is expanding its grassroots operation and inviting community members to get involved. Volunteers can sign up for daily canvassing and phone banking shifts at the main headquarters. Supporters can also pick up yard signs at the campaign headquarters or at two community partner locations.
